Xylometazolin Fortis is a topical medication that reduces congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa and the amount of secretions by contracting blood vessels. Patients with nasal congestion find it easier to breathe through the nose.
The effect of Xylometazolin Fortis starts within 2 minutes and lasts up to 12 hours.
Indications for use
Excessive congestion of the nasal mucosa occurring in the course of cold, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis. The drug facilitates drainage of secretion from inflamed paranasal sinuses. By reducing congestion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, it can be used supportively in otitis media. Xylometazolin Fortis facilitates examination of the nose with a peculum (examination of the nasal cavity).

The active substance of the drug is xylometazoline hydrochloride. 1 mL of solution contains 1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride. The other ingredients (excipients) are: benzalkonium chloride, solution, disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogenphosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, purified water.
